These are diagrams of some of the interviews I conducted with artists, scientists and arts administrators in Austria, at AIR Krems, at VBKÖ, Vienna and at homes, studios and cafés around town, July and August, 2012 and January 2013. (The others are still underway.) Each interview took between 60 and 90 minutes, and started with the request to talk about practice: "How do you work?"

The images on the left are the diagrams I arrived at. On the right is an excerpt from my notes, or, where it exists, a preparatory sketch for each. Some interviews require many sketches, others go directly to Illustrator.
