To create my own set of measures, I based the standards on physical properties of my head: circumference, volume and weight
I named several units:
A Fit is the circumference of my head.
(the Standard fit was then made as an engraved bronze bar)
Preparing to measure the Immersion.
An Immersion is the volume of my head.
(the Standard Immersion measure was then made as an engraved glass measuring cylinder)
A Burden is the weight of one Immersion of water.
(this is the Standard Burden measure, an engraved stainless steel weight)
A Start is 60 Fits
(this is the Start, a surveyor's chain)
